Dania Training

Hi! My name is Lone Beheshty and I set up my training business Dania Training back in 2009. I started my training career long before that though, in 1997, and have over the years built up extensive experience spanning across many industry sectors in the UK and abroad.

I currently work for both Dania Training as a Trainer and Consultant and Translations as a CAT Tools Specialist and Linguistic Consultant.

The extensive experience I have gained as a Project Manager and CAT Tools Specialist at COMUNICA since July 2017 is something I can pass on to all my clients. My expertise includes advanced memoQ Server project management training, advanced SDL Trados Studio project management as well as SDL MultiTerm terminology management training.

I have also worked as a professional freelance translator for more than 20 years. In July 2010, I became a qualified member of the ITI by passing the Membership Examination in the subject area Humanities.

Mission Statement

My main goal as a trainer is always to get my trainees to feel confident and enthusiastic about using their CAT tool. My ultimate goal is for the learning objectives to be reached and for trainees to be able to implement their new skills in real-life projects immediately after their course.

I endeavour to achieve these goals by pitching the training level correctly and creating a dynamic training environment where a clear end easy to follow demonstration of the software is mixed with plenty of hands-on exercises. I furthermore encourage my trainees to ask as many questions as possible, so that I can expand on and clarify areas they find problematic.

“Lone is an excellent trainer. Her training session was clearly structured and easy to follow. She was also very good at answering any questions participants had, particularly given the time constraints and limitations of online training, and overall had a very pleasant manner. I would definitely attend one of her training sessions again!” – Helen Brannen, UK

“Ms Beheshty was very professional and her explanations were very clear. I took the exam the same day and passed at my first try. Thank you very much!” – Deborah Olmi, Italy

“Excellent instructor. She knows the program inside out. She has a lovely teaching manner – answers questions directly – doesn’t waste time, just gets down to teaching you exactly what you want/need to know. I would recommend her to anyone.” – Siân Jones, UK

My Profile

Eager to travel and with English as my favourite language, my first destination after college in Odense, Denmark, was London, followed by Manchester, where I lived until 2017 . I am now based in Antas, Almeria, Spain.

I gained my BSc Honours degree in Computational Linguistics and Modern Languages (German/Spanish) from UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology). The 4-year programme included a year at the Technical University of Berlin, where I worked as a student assistant on the EU-funded machine translation project EUROTRA.

After graduating, I became a professional freelance translator. Three years later, I qualified as a Trados trainer and subsequently divided my time between translation and training. In 2009, I also became a certified memoQ trainer and started to expand my training activities.

As a CAT tools trainer, I travel widely (destinations so far include Panama, USA, Singapore, Denmark, Sweden, and Spain), a part of my job which I value highly.

In 2017, my husband and I turned our dream of moving to Southern Europe into reality after our two sons left home. Beautiful and mountainous southern Spain was our chosen destination, where I have worked as a Project Manager, CAT Tools Specialist and Linguistic Consultant for COMUNICA since July 2017. In my spare time, I enjoy learning Spanish & Farsi, reading, gardening, listening to music, playing the piano and badminton.
